Informed operates Trousdale Informed, an independent civic information service focused on Trousdale County, Tennessee. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

- Account and support information: email address, plan, contribution amount, subscription status, payment-processor customer or subscription identifiers, and checkout status
- Preferences: selected committees, dashboard settings, email delivery settings, and cookie choices
- Authentication data: magic-link tokens, session information, and OAuth session details where applicable
- Community activity: submitted posts, comments, moderation status, terms acceptance, suspension status, and related audit records
- Fundraising activity: fundraising email sends, opt-out status, and conversion-related campaign records
- Usage data: pages visited, device/browser details, IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic logs
- Communications: messages you send us, support requests, and unsubscribe or preference updates
3. How We Use Information
- Provide the public calendar, blog, newsletter, subscriber dashboard, and preference tools
- Process donations and subscriptions, verify account access, and send dashboard or article access links
- Deliver newsletters, fundraising asks, service notices, account messages, and support replies
- Review, approve, reject, remove, or audit community posts and comments
- Draft, review, edit, and publish meeting summaries and civic information
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, debug issues, and maintain audit records
- Understand product performance and improve the service
4. Third-Party Providers
We use service providers to operate Trousdale Informed. These may include:
- Database and authentication provider: database, authentication, session verification, and server-side storage
- Payment processor: checkout, subscription, billing, and payment status processing
- Email delivery provider: newsletter, magic-link, and transactional email delivery
- Hosting and analytics providers: application hosting, logs, traffic measurement, and security monitoring
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies and Preferences
We use essential cookies or local storage for session, language, theme, authentication, and cookie preference functions. If analytics or marketing cookies are enabled, you can manage those choices through the cookie settings page.
6. Public Records and Published Content
Meeting summaries may be based on public agendas, notices, minutes, and other public records. Public-record information may remain public even if you request deletion of your personal account data.
Comments and approved community submissions may be visible to other logged-in users. Do not submit private information that you do not want associated with your account or reviewed by moderators.
7. Retention
We keep personal information as long as needed to provide the service, maintain billing and audit records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. When you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove or de-identify account data within a reasonable period unless retention is required for legal, payment, tax, security, backup, or legitimate operational reasons.
8. Your Choices
- Unsubscribe from marketing, fundraising, or newsletter emails using email links where available
- Update committee and email preferences from the subscriber dashboard
- Manage cookie choices from the cookie settings page
- Request access, correction, export, or deletion by contacting us
Some messages, such as payment, security, or service notices, may still be sent when needed to operate your account.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or data has been accessed without permission, contact us promptly.
10. Children's Privacy
Trousdale Informed is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
