1. Acceptance
These Terms apply when you use Trousdale Informed, including the calendar, blog, newsletter, dashboard, community submissions, comments, donation checkout, and Contributor plan. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.

2. Independent Civic Information Service
Trousdale Informed is an independent civic information service. Unless we state otherwise, we are not operated by, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any county office, school board, committee, elected official, or agency.
We summarize public meetings and public materials to help residents understand local decisions. Official agendas, minutes, notices, ordinances, policies, and court or agency filings remain the record of authority.
3. Accounts, Donations, and Billing
Full content requires a logged-in account. General access is donation-supported with a suggested $4/month contribution. You may choose another monthly supporter amount from $0 to $999.99, subject to payment processor minimums for card payments.
Community comments and community news submissions require the separate $5/month Contributor plan. Paid plans renew monthly unless cancelled. You are responsible for keeping your email address current and managing cancellation through the available account, dashboard, payment, or support channel.
4. Accuracy and Editorial Review
We work to publish clear, balanced, and useful summaries, but we may make mistakes, omit context, or publish information that later changes. Do not rely on Trousdale Informed as legal, financial, tax, medical, emergency, or official government advice.
Subscribers should consult official public records for authoritative details.
5. Account Access
Subscriber access uses your email address and secure magic links or OAuth where available. You are responsible for keeping access links private and for telling us promptly if you believe your account was used without permission.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to access admin tools, subscriber data, payment records, or systems you are not authorized to use
- Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute subscriber-only content as a competing product
- Use the service to harass, threaten, impersonate, or mislead others
- Post profanity, nudity, sexual content, graphic content, hate, harassment, threats, or other offensive material
- Post content that is not appropriate for a family site or a community audience that may include children
- Submit false, defamatory, private, doxxing, or unlawfully obtained information
- Interfere with security controls, rate limits, authentication, or payment processing
- Use the service in violation of applicable law
7. Community Submissions and Comments
Community news submissions require admin approval before publication. Comments may publish without prior review, but they must be tied to a paying Contributor account that has accepted these Terms.
We may reject, edit, remove, hide, suspend, cancel, or terminate any user, account, payment plan, submission, or comment at any time and for any reason, including safety, family-suitability, legal, editorial, community, payment, or operational concerns. We are not required to publish or preserve any user submission.
8. Intellectual Property
Public records remain public records. Our original summaries, organization, commentary, dashboard features, software, design, and branding are owned by Informed or its licensors. You may share short excerpts with attribution and links back to Trousdale Informed, but you may not republish subscriber-only content in bulk without permission.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
We use third-party providers for payment, email, hosting, authentication, and analytics. We may link to county pages, meeting records, documents, videos, social platforms, and other third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or policies.
10. Elections and Official Sources
Election articles, candidate references, sample-ballot links, dates, locations, and turnout summaries are provided for reader convenience. Official election offices and official records control. Always verify voting instructions, candidate details, ballot eligibility, polling places, and deadlines with the official Election Commission before voting.
11. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, pause, or discontinue features. We may revise pricing for future billing periods with reasonable notice when required. We may suspend, cancel, reject, or terminate access for any reason, including if these Terms are violated or if continued access creates legal, safety, community, security, operational, or payment risk.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, and accuracy.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TROUSDALE INFORMED and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, service interruption, or decisions made based on summaries.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law rules. Venue for disputes will be in courts with jurisdiction over the relevant Tennessee matter unless applicable law requires otherwise.
